About the Artist
When Lisa Granozio, an avid gardener and lifelong photographer, began chronicling her garden, she was struck by the tiny details of the flora as it progressed from bud to bloom. These details, captured at close range, inspire many of her current compositions.
“It’s not the beauty of the rock or landscape or the flower itself, but the beauty that I see in its lines, textures, shadow and light. I want the viewer to see the whorls inside a bud, to feel the velvet of a leaf, to experience the patterns and textures that inform a landscape.”
A professional photographer, Lisa Granozio owns and operates LAG Photography, a fine art and portrait photography company specializing in botanicals and landscapes, architecture, artistic macros, and natural light portraits. She seeks to reflect the beauty and light in all of her subjects, whether it be a spring blossom, a cascading waterfall, an architectural element, or a personal portrait.
Through her work, Lisa provides a connection to the healing powers of the natural world, inspiring the viewer to pause, breathe, experience peace, and harness resilience.
"Neuroscience, and all that goes into battling depression and promoting resilience, has always been a focus for me. Photography can be intensely curative. And, as a professional photographer, I aspire to provide access to the healing powers of nature through my work."
Through her photography and interest in neuroscience, Lisa aims to connect the two to bring healing and joy. As seen in her series The Light Within, her photos are symbolic of a larger conversation on mental health and vulnerability: how can we shine light on our shadows and access our light within to heal?
"If there's something to change the conversation inside our brains - soften our self-talk, something soothing and joyful that can help us pause and shift the brain to positive - I hope to shift that lens with my lens."
Research shows that viewing images of nature is linked to better mental health and emotional well-being. At a time when an overwhelming number of Americans are suffering from anxiety and depression, Lisa is passionate about connecting others to the healing powers of the natural world through healing images. She often speaks on helping others do the same for their communities. Her images and research are foundational to her presentation Healing Images: Pause, Presence, Resilience.
The Light Within series, a 15-piece large-scale, plexi-mounted permanent installation, is on display in the therapy rooms and public spaces at Trinity Counseling Services.
Drawn to details that engage the eye, Lisa's passion has taken her beyond her garden to interior regions of Panama, the coastal Atlantic and Pacific, the canyons of Utah and Arizona, the streets of Havana, Cuba, and hillside towns of Europe.
Lisa regularly exhibits in joint exhibitions and solo shows. Her work is available through galleries, home design stores, and directly from her website.
Archival giclée prints are custom framed with acid free 8-ply mats and non-reflective museum glass. C-Prints are mounted on plexi.
Lisa brings strengths from her former career in PR and marketing. She excels at framing, organizing content and perspectives for optimal representation to broader audiences, and event planning and management. She has a strong graphic eye and artistic sensibility for visual materials such as websites, invitations, newsletters, programs, and presentations.
